Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials such as steel beams, concrete panels, and equipment throughout construction sites.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of crane machinery to ensure proper functionality and adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other heavy equipment operators to accurately implement lifting plans.
- Maintain effective communication with ground personnel using hand signals or radios to ensure seamless operations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including load limits, signaling procedures, and hazard assessments, to avert accidents.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on cranes and promptly report any mechanical issues.
- Assist in establishing crane work zones, including stabilizing equipment and securing loads as necessary.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience on construction sites with a solid understanding of heavy equipment operation.
- Mechanical knowledge of crane systems, hydraulics, and safety features.
- Possession of a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with the necessary endorsements for operating heavy machinery.
- Experience in operating various construction vehicles such as concrete mixers, dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, farm machinery, and tankers.
- Familiarity with construction safety standards and protocols specific to crane operations.
- Capability to read technical manuals and accurately interpret load charts.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members on-site.
