About the Job
The Diesel Mechanic is essential for maintaining the safe and efficient functioning of our equipment through thorough maintenance and repair activities. This role demands a strong grasp of critical equipment upkeep, which includes conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, troubleshooting Kenworth machinery, inspecting disc braking systems, and evaluating vehicle lighting systems.
Moreover, the mechanic will be tasked with test driving vehicles to assess their performance, performing preventative maintenance, and carefully recording all service actions. A primary goal will be to reduce equipment downtime to improve operational productivity while ensuring a safe and orderly work environment. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Requirements: Preferences will be given to those with:
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive trade.
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
- Strong team player who possesses excellent initiative, decision making skills and ability to work well with fellow team members.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds, standing, walking and bending.
- Must be able to work rotating schedule, including some weekend shifts and call-outs.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Prefer applicant posses or, within reasonable time, be able to secure CDL to perform additional duties associated with maintenance and movement of equipment fleet and product.
Benefits:
The compensation for this position starts at $90,000, with the potential for negotiation based on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits may include tuition reimbursement and assistance with relocation costs.
