We are looking for a motivated and skilled Vac Truck Diesel Mechanic to become a part of our vibrant maintenance team. In this essential position, you will be tasked with diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of vac trucks and heavy machinery utilized in industrial and construction environments. Your technical knowledge will play a crucial role in ensuring that our equipment functions efficiently, safely, and reliably, thereby supporting our operational objectives. Job Details:
In this role, you will conduct thorough inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on vac trucks, focusing on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks and struts, and HVAC components. You will leverage schematics and technical manuals to effectively troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems. Additionally, you will perform fabrication tasks such as welding, soldering, and assembling parts to repair or modify equipment as necessary. Operating heavy machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers, will be part of your responsibilities to facilitate repairs or safely move equipment within the shop or at job sites. You will also maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs using computerized maintenance management systems, assist with tire services, wheel alignments, and air brake systems, and utilize power and hand tools proficiently for various projects while adhering to safety protocols. Furthermore, you will support customer service initiatives by effectively communicating with team members and clients regarding the status of repairs and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and automotive repair in a dealership or industrial setting.
- Strong background in diesel engine repair with knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components.
- Familiarity with schematics reading for troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, tire service, suspension systems, shocks & struts, brake repair, and power tools usage.
- Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong customer service skills to support team collaboration and client satisfaction.

Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years as a diesel mechanic.
- No DUI in last 7 years.
- ASE certification preferred.
