Job Details:
The role involves overseeing the loading, transportation, delivery, and unloading of products, with a primary focus on operating a commercial tractor and trailer to ensure efficient cargo transport.
Responsibilities include loading, unloading, and stacking various materials, as well as moving and lifting heavy items when necessary. The position requires the use of hydraulic lifts and other equipment, along with the ability to wrap and unwrap products as needed. Regular vehicle inspections are essential to identify any malfunctions or maintenance requirements, and the operator must maintain the vehicle in optimal condition by servicing it with water, fuel, or oil as required. Safety inspections and the use of weighing or measuring devices during transportation are also critical, along with verifying cargo against shipping documents. The physical demands of the job include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks involving standing, walking, twisting, and bending.
Candidates must be available for dispatch away from the home base for a minimum of 5-7 days, with the possibility of extended periods depending on the location. Proficiency in using GPS and other resources to determine location and assess environmental conditions is necessary. The ideal applicant should be self-motivated, capable of working collaboratively within a team, and able to operate with minimal supervision. Consistent attendance and reliability are crucial for success in this role.
